Peruze Hamurcu was born in İzmir.
She graduated from the Painting Department of the Faculty of Education at Dokuz Eylül University.
Her works are included in many private collections both in Turkey and abroad.
Since 2007, she has been participating in the “Société Nationale des Beaux Arts” Salon Exhibition held in the Carrousel du Louvre, located within the Louvre Museum Complex in Paris.
A member of the International Association of Plastic Arts, Peruze Hamurcu works as an art educator and continues her artistic practice in her studios in Istanbul and İzmir.
The artist has held 20 solo exhibitions, received seven awards, and taken part in numerous group exhibitions and events.
In this century, where human values have been scattered, the artist takes us on an inner journey through her themes concerning human beings and human life.
The figures in her paintings, constructed with her unique perspective, sometimes appear as familiar faces.
However, they live in a dreamlike world, performing in their own unique scenes derived from real spaces.
The figures’ sometimes seemingly impossible postures and relationships are a game she constructs to carry their existence into an imaginary dimension.
In her paintings, color is not confined within the relationship of form and shape limited by the surface of the canvas.
On the contrary, in her works, color acts as an element that moves together with drawing.
Therefore, her paintings are the result of a process in which drawing and color are harmoniously blended together.
She reflects all the beauties that make us human—hope, sincerity, and warmth—on the faces of her figures, while her mastery in using all the possibilities of oil painting can be seen in the captivating charm of her works.
